Permanent French Manicure
As an added bonus, acrylics can also be used to create a Permanent French Manicure
How to Perform Permanent French at Home
- Prepare your natural nails as explained in Stage 1 of How to Apply Acrylic Nails
- Prepare the form as per the link above. If your form has an extra sticker in the middle, remove it and attach to behind. This will make the edge of the sticker thicker and stronger to make a nice C curve on the free edge. Then trim the inside of the form so that it will fit nicely on the finger.
- Dip the brush in a dappen dish and take a big 1st ball of acrylic mixture with white powder and place it onto the free edge (mostly on the form).
- Spread the 1st ball and shape it into a square. Push the brush from the sides and top to make straight lines.
- Take a samll amount of mixture and place it on the corner of the free-edge to make half of the smile line.
- Shape it nice and round from inside the line.
- Repeat Step 5 & 6 on the other side and connect the smile line in the middle. If there is a gap in between the lines from the sides, add a small amount of mixture to fill the gap.
- Take a big ball of clear mixture and place it close to the cuticle line, but not touching it.
- Apply a medium sized ball of clear mixture on the stress point. Stroke the entire with a brush to make the surface smooth.
- 10. When it starts drying (no stickiness on the surface), remove the form and pinch from sidewall to sidewall to make a nice C curve on the free edge.
- 11. File down the free edge, side walls and straight lines under the nail
- 12. Buff the surface with a sponge buffer
- 13. Buff with shiner until the surface becomes smooth and shiny. Repeat 11 and 12 until there is no scratches left.
- 14. Wash hands thoroughly and dry with a clean towel. Then apply cuticle oil on the cuticles to finish.
