Step 5 - Buffing

The Buffing Technique is very beneficial for dull looking and bumpy nails. Charming Buffing Gem

What you need is...

  • A 3 Way Buffer or a Sponge Block Buffer.
  • A piece of Gauze.
  • Cuticle Oil, only if your not going to apply nail polish after buffing.
Buffing Equipment

Buffing Technique

  1. Hold the buffer lightly, facing the rough side down.
  2. First, use the roughest part of the buffer. Buff gently, moving the buffer from the base of the toenail towards the free edge. Buff the sides of the toenail as well, using a corner of the buffer to make the entire toenail a whitish color and rough looking.
  3. Using the 2nd roughest part of the buffer, repeat Step 2 until the white roughness disappears.
  4. Using the smooth side of the buffer, once again repeat the Step 2 movements, this time until the toe nail becomes shiny.
  5. Once you have completed buffing all toe nails, remove any dust with a damp gauze. This will prevent the dust from mixing with the cuticle oil or nail polish.
  6. If you are NOT planning on applying nail polish, you can apply Cuticle Oil onto the cuticle line and massage it into the skin. This will help nourish the skin.
