Step 3: Nail Polish Art
By using characteristics of Nail Polishes, we can enjoy unique Nail Art Designs!!
Gradation
What you need is...
- Base Coat
- A light coloured nail polish for the base color
- A transparent nail polish for the 1st colour
- A transparent nail polish for the 2nd colour (slightly stronger colour than 1st colour)
- Top Coat
Procedure
- Apply base coat.
- Apply the base colour.
- Apply a thin coat of the 1st colour from the top half to the free edge.
- Apply a thin coat of the 2nd colour from the top 1/3 to the free edge.
- Apply top coat.
And now, the Completed Design...
Marbling
What you need is...
- Base Coat
- A transparent light coloured nail polish for the base colour
- A solid coloured nail polish
- White nail polish or light solid coloured nail polish
- An old topcoat brush that is not going to be used as top coat
- A piece of paper towel
- Top Coat
Procedure
- Apply base coat on all nails.
- Apply 1st coat of the base colour and wait for it to dry.
- Apply a thick 2nd coat of the base colour
- Quickly add some drops of solid coloured nail polish and white nail polish while the 2nd coat is still wet.
- Using an old topcoat brush, drag the nail polishes lightly in a swinging motion.
- Wipe the brush with a paper towel and put it back in the bottle.
- Wait for the nail polishes to set and then apply the top coat.
And now, the Completed Design...
