Nail Extensions from Home
Stage 2 - Acrylic Nail Application
We are now ready to move onto nail extensions using acrylic mixture, please read on to find out how:- Dip brush in dappen dish to soak the entire brush with acrylic liquid (can be called monomer).
- Pick acrylic powder (can be called polymer) using one side of the brush, as shown in the photo below.
- Remove excess acrylic liquid onto paper towel.
- Apply 1st ball of Acrylic Mixture onto the free edge of the nail. Make the ball fairly large and firm, as shown in the picture below.
- Press from the top to spread the mixture and make it flat
- Shape the mixture, making sure the side walls are straight along the lines of the sidewalls and press the top to make it square.
- Apply the 2nd ball of acrylic mixture onto the cuticle line and drag to the free-edge. This ball is softer than the 1st ball (more liquid is in the brush).
- Press the brush against the cuticle line to make the mixture thinner.
- 9. Apply the 3rd ball of acrylic mixture onto the stress point, which is the highest point of the nail plate. This ball is also softer and smaller than the 1st ball.
- 10. Stroke the mixture to make the surface smooth and wait for the acrylic to harden (takes a few minutes).
- 11. Test to see if it is ready to remove by pushing in the form from underneath the free edge. If the acrylic mixture separates from the form easily, you are ready to pull down and remove the form from the nail.
- 12. Pinch from the sidewalls. This will make a nice C curve in the free-edge and also gives strength to the acrylic nails as well as making a straight and sharp look. You can use a C curve stick to make the a perfect curve on the free-edge.
- 13. Repeat this process for all fingernails.
