How to do a Pedicure
Step 3 - Foot Massage
Below I will be stepping you through How to do a Pedicure when it comes to massaging your feet.
Massage Benefits
- It reduces tension in the muscles.
- It will increase the lymphatic and blood circulation in the feet and legs, which brings oxygen and nutrients to them and removes toxins from the muscles.
- Rich creams may be used to soften the skin further.
- Dry and flaky toe nails will be moisturized, and nourished by blood supply to the area.
Foot & Leg Massage Procedure
- Use cream or lotion (approx 1inch / 3cm in diameter) and rub in between your hands to warm up the temperature.
- Spread the cream across the foot and calf of one leg.
- Massage your toes – massage each toe with your thumb and index finger with a pinching and circular motion.
- The massage technique for the sole of the feet is to make a fist with your hand and rub the sole from the toes down to just before the heel, repeating 3 or 4 times.
- Now we can move towards the calf, using a squeezing technique, starting from above the feet and progressing up the calf. The same squeeze and release approach can be used as you move up your leg. Repeat this 3 to 4 times.
- Repeat Steps 1 to 5 on the other foot and leg.
